Can anybody at BNN make a free throw?
Quote from B.J. Rains on December 1, 2021, 1:48 amI think a group of us might have been able to shoot better than 12 of 26 from the line.
That was horrible tonight, and unfortunately for the Broncos it's a trend that hasn't been getting any better.

Quote from Spencer Kent on December 1, 2021, 8:31 amI'd like to think that I could do better; but shooting free throws in my driveway or at the gym is a lot different than the environment they are shooting in. As much as they practice its gotta be in their heads, right? Couldn't possibly be that they need more practice doing the 1 thing you do in this game to get points.... putting the ball in the hole. Doesn't add up. IDK

Quote from denveryettie on December 1, 2021, 9:29 amSo much about free throw shooting is muscle memory. I am not saying that I could do better, but I haven't been playing basketball from 10 years old until now either. When I was playing, they were considered incredibly important. I know there is a mental part of it, but muscle memory should take over. The height, and distance do not change. If it is that much of a mental issue, and its impacting all of the players then there is a big problem. I can see one guy, but this is something I have noticed in all my seasons of watching in the arena. Some players have been solid, and others really not great. Charity strip, FREE throw, whatever you want to call it, they are called that for a reason. Everyone should be good from the line.

Quote from Ridge on December 1, 2021, 10:28 amI think it's important that you don't go to the line and think about it. Look at Jimmerson for Saint Louis, he goes to the line, dribbles once, locks on quick, blocks out the crowd, and shoots. The guy is automatic. And he'll do that all year. I know it's easier said than done, but that kind of repetitious training worked for my son as a ten year old, who went to the Elks National Free Throw Contest and placed second in the nation. 🙂
