Strength of Schedule
Quote from bothfgsweregood on December 2, 2021, 11:32 amJust saw B.J.'s tweet about nonconference strength of schedule. We are sitting at the 89th most difficult non con schedule while Colorado State has the 311th most difficult non con schedule. We are 3-4, they are 8-0.
Realistically, who has the better shot at reaching the big dance based on this fact alone? If the answer is Colorado State, what is the incentive for us to schedule good teams? Why wouldn't we just schedule cupcakes to artificially inflate our record?

If we are just talking non con, the wins definitely matter. I consistently see conversations revolving around best win, and worst loss, and the Bakersfield loss was a doozy. Maybe things change if they are able to turn it around and win the rest of the non conference convincingly, but the shadow of the Bakersfield game will always loom large.
