Walk-ons who should be considered for scholarships (IMO)

I see 4 walk-ons who contributed a lot during the 2023 season who should be considered for a scholarship.  Those 4 are the following (in no particular order):

Colt Fulton - QB - 2023 RS SO - Saw playing time in 7 of 13 games so far this season

Luke Voorhees - TE - 2023 RS SO - Also saw playing time in 7 of 13 games so far this season

Bruce Cleave - S - 2023 RS SO - Saw playing time in 10 of 13 games so far this season

Troy Wilkey - CB - 2023 True FR - Saw playing time in all 13 games so far this season

Hopefully there will be room. Proud of them. It takes a lot to walk on anywhere. It takes a lot more to do it at Boise.

Fulton will likely start in the LA Bowl.  BJ says Fulton knows the playbook as well as anyone.  Probably a priority to keep.

I think this list depends on who we can get in the transfer portal.  I hate to say it but the priority should transfers.  Then toward the beginning of the season, once the yearly exit of players occurs, then Danielson can focus on those walk-ons that can be put on scholarship.

Did they ever give Gabe Hunter a scholarship? I don’t think he played this season, but he stepped up in 2022.

I have been keeping track of who has played in each game this season - as I have been doing for years and will do so again after the LA Bowl game.

Gabe Hunter's stat line for this season is the following in my list of player participation:

DE - # 54 – Gabe Hunter – RS JR - CSU – WYO -

Which means he has played (not started) in just two games this season.  That being in the Colorado State and the Wyoming games.  I don't know if he was injured or not but - according to the Player Participation list that is put out by Boise State after each game he played in only two games this season.

As to whether he was put on scholarship...............if he had I'm fairly certain that there would have been some news about that.   If so I did not come across it anywhere.
