Today's first softball game of the season vs Georgia

WILL BE DELAYED at least 1/2 hour. I say that because as I write this at 11:27 a.m. this morning Georgia is still playing Ohio State. Georgia is leading 11-4 as they go into the 7th inning. IF Ohio State doesn't make a huge rally that should be the last 1/2 inning of the game.

Ohio State's 1st batter in the top of the 7th struck out. 1 out now.

And the 3rd batter for Ohio State in the top of the 7th struck out. Game over at 11:33 a.m. MT. But it will take them awhile to get the field ready for play again. It will PROBABLY start around noon today MT.

Rough game after a very promising start. Just couldnt get the 3rd out before that UGA rally that lead to the go ahead grand slam and just lost momentum after that. Was only able to watch until 4th but was really impressed with how patient our hitters were. Drew 5 walks but unfortunately had a tough time getting runners home after we went ahead 4-0. Bounce back against another top 20 team tonight. Lets see how it plays out!

Heart break city in the 2nd game vs UCF. Ladies were down 7-1 heading into the 5th frame and ended up pulling within 2 runs before scoring 5 more in the 6th to take a 8-7 lead going into the bottom half of the 7th. Unfortunately after walking the first batter of the inning, UCF then hit a 2 run walk off shot to end it. Nothing to hang their heads about. Not being able to stop rallies with 2 outs was the theme of the day. 1 very good takeaway from the 2 games is that I thought the ladies battled well at the plate. They were not going down only taking 3-4 pitches. Seemed like every batters approach was to get it to 5+ each AB.

Faced 2 top 25 teams and were on the brink of splitting the day and came up short. I think these games will pay dividens down the line. Tomorrow they got Umass at 10 am local then turnaround to play Ohio State right after the first game concludes. Both games will be on ESPN+ again.

I am surprised the 2nd game was played at all. I kept checking to see if it had started and gave up sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. last night. It was supposed to start at 4:30 p.m. but the previous game for U.C.F. went long.
