Reno recap and upcoming game at The Pit

Kind of surprised there wasn't more chatter here after the big win on Tuesday night. Max Rice had a special game and our defense again proves to be one of the very best in the entire country. I didnt have doubts about what the final result was going to be after seeing Rice get off to the scorching start in the first half. That 6 point lead we had felt like it was closer to 15. Then the 2nd half came and it became total domination in nearly all phases. The only thing we kind of let up on were rebounds and 2nd chance points. But that is going to happen when we are playing a smaller lineup for majority of games. We forced Nevada into so many mental mistakes that they typically do not make. Unforced errors just trying to make simple passes, getting bullied in the paint by a undersized team and more importantly not allowing any of their big time players to take over the game. Baker, Blackshear and Jarod all were pretty much held in check. What is even more impressive about our dominant win is that this was a total team effort. Shaver didnt have it Tuesday in the scoring column but he didnt let that bother him and contributed in other ways to help out the TEAM.

Looking forward to our matchup at The Pit. In my opinion the best basketball venue on the west coast in terms of fan support and how intimidating that place is when their teams are rolling. Its nice that they are getting back to national relevancy again. Our conference is much better when the Lobos are good. I really have no idea how this game will play out. I feel much better knowing our team is going into Friday night playing very well. This game has the making of being our first high scoring affiar of the year with both teams having the ability to get 80+. I'd be surprised if either team won by double digits tomorrow. Going to be a fun one!

The game at the Pit will be defining for the Broncos.  Win at the crazy NM venue and I believe they can win anywhere.  The Lobos are playing excellent basketball and except for a couple of hiccups, they have been a force in league play.  I too am excited to see what this team can do in the hostile environment.  My only concern with our team is still the lack of an inside force, but somehow we continue to make it work.  Go Broncos!
