Regarding Max Rice

Max Rice is coming off a legendary scoring performance against New Mexico on Wednesday by scorching the highly talented and touted Lobos for 35 pts!!!!!!! I absolutely loved to see him have that impressive showing. Sounds like some of the fire for that scoring output came from  from HIM was from discussions about overall shooting struggle sand FG% with some calling for limiting his minutes or limiting his shot attempts (in all honesty, I was in the shot attempt limit camp). I realize that one solid offensive shooting performance against a highly touted and talented opponent on the road doesn't negate colder shooting performances in conference games and/or nonconference games, but it does give me hope and belief that he can keep this fire going thru the rest of conference play, thru the conference tourney, and into the NCAAT. In honesty, his shooting struggles this year has been a little disappointing, since I fully believed after getting snub Ed for 1st team MWC last season he would have used that as extra fire and motivation because I firmly and fully believed going into this season that he would be one of the elite shooting guards not only in the conference, but also in all the NCAA since he is a highly talented and capable shooter from 3 and loved his inside "circus shots" that were falling last season. I still believe he has what it takes to finish the conference season off strong and push for 2nd/1st team all MWC. I believe he is one of the greatest Broncos to don the Blue and Orange because of how tough his road has been: first being a coaches son and a lot of skepticism that comes with that territory (my personal experience with that was when playing East Boise little league baseball when around 11 or 12 was on team when 2 teammates' dad was the HC and at times my own parents would say to me how they and other parents felt I should have more playing time as was playing better than one/both, and even though it was a bit of a confidence boost, it also felt wrong to me as HC probably knew his sons better and their talent levels were and was playing them as he should have, so I never told my HC or them about what was being said behind their back), along with how much of a damn warrior he is when considering playing a full season with a bad back that was operated on the prior off-season and put up all conference caliber numbers on offense and defense (part of reason I call him Maximus like the Gladiator on Twitter and post game while dabbing him and the team up). I am damn proud of how he's battled and conducted himself during his career and looking forward to HIM keeping the fire he showed in the Pit on Wednesday and keep his hot shooting going. Go 12!!!!!! Go Maximus!!!!!!!!
