My GUESS as to what the Boise State 2023 softball team lineup will be

I'm absolutely certain that some of the following will end up being wrong but my GUESS as to what the 2023 Boise State softball team lineup for the non-pitching positions will probably be would be the following.  Returning starters listed in Bold print:

CATCHER - Serena Hutchingson - RS Senior and Abby Bumcrot - True Junior

FIRST BASE - Ashlyn Whalen - True Junior OR Zoe Karam - True Freshman

SECOND BASE - Autumn Bennett - 4th Year Senior OR Bobbiann Pratt - True Junior (UNLESS Jaylen Ervin makes a miraculous recovery from her injury)

SHORTSTOP - Eliyah Flores - Grad student and Hollie Farmer - True Freshman

THIRD BASE - Austum Bennett - 4th year Senior OR Sydney Groves - True Freshman

RIGHT FIELD - Alycia Flores - RS Junior and Abby Bumcrot - True Junior

CENTER FIELD - Kelsey Hall - RS Junior OR Kylie Baumert - RS Senior

LEFT FIELD - Jordyn Hutchins - True Junior and Mykenzie Hanna - True Sophomore

DESIGNATED PLAYER - Kelsey Hall - RS Junior OR Kylie Baumert - RS Senior OR Lindsey Walljasper - Senior

If anyone who posts here regularly (or any of the "lurkers" here who never contribute anything) have any corrections to make on this please feel free to suggest those corrections.

I don't have any corrections or disagreements, except to say that Abby will starting somewhere.  She is very capable of playing outfield, infield and catcher.  I don't know, she might even pitch. Autumn will likely be at third most of the time, which is where she played down the stretch of the season last year. Unless I missed something, Eliyah Flores did not return.  I don't see her on the roster.

The rest of the older players are very talented and could be inserted is several positions.  The trick will be to see where the new comers play.  Kylie Baumert might be an interesting addition.

Pitching will be key.  I am really interested to see which of the younger players develops.

Eliyah did return - it was announced a few weeks ago.  She will be a grad student at Boise State this spring.

There is a thread about that here.   It is in the thread here titled "HUGE NEWS FOR THE SOFTBALL TEAM"

As to Abby - I agree - but the question is where does she start?  She had the 2nd best BA on the team last season.  She has to be in the starting lineup.   The question is WHERE?  Left field maybe?  Second base maybe?

The player who played more than anyone else at 3rb in the three fall games that I attended was true freshman Sydney Groves.  And she did pretty well both at fielding and hitting.

I searched tweets for the return of EF, but didn't see it.  This makes this team very formidable. We are definitely going to miss Loller, but EF helps in so many ways.  Abby could play CF and trade in with Hutch.

My real only concern is pitching.  I saw a questionable UNLV team (other than pitching) sweep us.  Visser played all three games and we lit her up in the third game a bit, but she held BSU off from coming back.

I was able to watch one game at NNU this fall and they don't keep score, but the NNU players were able to hit off of our two upperclass girls.
