1. Howdy, alumni of Boise State and their marching band, and I’m not quite sure where else to go. Last season and in 2018, the university and athletics decided to not send the band to the bowl game (money and timing being the biggest issues). Now, as the announcement came out with team making their way in to championship, it seems that the athletic department and university is yet again lacking communication and preparation to try and make this happen. Don’t really know what the solution is, but I do know that each year the MW championship happened in boise, their bands would travel (minus Hawaii in 2019). Heck, go on social media, University of Washington’s band was quick to announce they found funding to get their whole band down for their Pac-12 championship game. Why do we struggle so much with this at Boise? Other group of 5 schools seem to be able to figure this stuff out, yet we still lack the ability to work with our groups that strive to support the FB team. Wanted to get it out out there somewhere, as the band members I still have connections with are concerned they’re going to get walked over again, with zero explanation from the athletic department or the university (heck how can we reach out to the Stein’s who help support this website to see if they can help pitch in).
