Might as well give San Diego State the # 1 seed at the MWC tourn.

Even if Boise State manages to get their act together after last night's atrocious game vs. San Jose State and somehow manages to beat SDSU here in Boise on Tuesday there is no way on earth that San Diego State is going to lose to last place Wyoming in San Diego in their last regular season game. So they ARE the 2023 MWC regular season champs.

The question now is who will be the # 2 seed? Boise State (who has to play SDSU @ home on Tuesday and then finish @ Utah State) or Nevada whose last two games are @ last place Wyoming and then home vs. U.N.L.V. My money would be on Nevada at this point.

Ya, didn’t get to see last night’s game, but all reports are not good. They could conceivably be riding a 3 game losing streak heading to the MW championships. A tough place to right a ship.

I watched portions of last night's game via the Mountain West streaming channel. I didn't watch much of the first half but did watch a lot of the 2nd half.

Boise State led by as much as 12 points (maybe more?) half way thru the 2nd half and then inexplicably just turned into an awful BB team. This sort of thing seems to happen under Leon every year.

Teams have off days. I think last night was more of everyone on our team looking forward to Tuesday's game with the potential implications and just hoping to get through yesterday going through the motions thinking that would be enough. You could almost sense it in the interviews this week that everyone's focus was on SDSU and not SJSU. They pretty much admitted as much in the post game interviews saying that they were peaking ahead to Tuesday. You usually don't see teams come right out and admit that too often so at the very least they are self aware.

Regardless that L isnt a death blow yet. 1-2 to finish the regular season and I think we will be fine. Worst case for right now I think we are right where we were a couple days ago which was in the last 4 byes. Losing to SDSU and USU wont hurt a ton but you don't want to go to Vegas riding a 3 game losing streak while living life on the bubble either. Since they were so eager to get to Tuesday's game, I expect they should be ready to go. We can win, but need to have a strong overall game or else we could be staring down the barrel of another 20 point defeat. Aztecs pretty much won at least a share of the reg season crown already so Tuesday will mean a lot to them since they can clinch it outright. They are taking it personal after getting swept by us last year.

Boise State was up 12 with 8 minutes to go. Scored four points in the final 8 minutes. Got out-rebounded by 21, and gave up 21 offensive rebounds to San Jose.

It was a rough game. But it happens. It's a Quad 2 loss. Not the end of the world.
