Looks like B.J. thinks it's

Kellen Moore.  At least according to yesterday's Bronco Nation News Live webcast.  Based solely on the fact that Dickey flew to L.A. - presumably to interview Kellen in person.

The PROBLEM with this is Moore is under contract to be the O.C. for the Chargers thru the first week of January and that's about SIX weeks from today.

But with the Chargers being 4-7 so far this season perhaps he's thinking he's going to be let go?

B.J. also stated that he thinks Boise State will keep Hamdan as O.C. and hopefully keep Danielson as D.C. as well with Kellen as the new head coach.

I'm sure there could be a clause deep in Kellen's contract that allows him to take this kind of opportunity if it presents itself without any kind of penalty. Whether or not Kellen wants the job or not I don't know. Could be a decent chance of him being named the interim HC of the Chargers if they do let go of Staley sometime soon.

If BJ did come out and say that then I imagine he was able to hear about the chatter from someone in the know. I can see guys like Hamden and Keane getting a ton of interest from P5 schools for the same positions. With Plough being the new HC of UC Davis (at least that was the presumed hire) I wonder if Keane maybe gets a shot at being an OC with him. Plough would no doubt still be the mastermind behind the offense but it would allow Keane to get his feet wet with play-calling. I could easily see Danielson being retained unless some Power 5 school comes in and offers him something that we simply cannot.

Incorrect.   You would have to listen to yesterday's Bronco Nation News Live webcast to see how he said what he did say.  It was more of a hunch than anything else.   Nothing definite at all.

Three head coaches have been fired at Boise State. All three were defensive coaches. This program's successful run as a power member of the "group of five" has been with offensive coaches. See a pattern?

May have to scratch Choate off the list for us. Reno beat writer thinks Choate could be on the top of the list for Nevada and expects him to interview this weekend for the job.

Kellen is far more realistic this time than last time.  Chargers HC likely to get fired.  Who knows what would happen with Kellen for next year, but not real likely he woud be back with Chargers.  If there was ever a time to get Kellen this seems to be it.

Dickey has allowed ZERO leaks, so we have no idea who the candidates even are.  I think there is still like 40% chance Dickey picks some name that is going to be a surprise to us and has no connection to BSU.  Dickey just going out and hiring his own guy.

Local media has a love affair with Danielson.  I like him, but think they will go with bigger name or more experienced coach. If he was getting the job, they would already have announced it before the game. I don't thinkyoucan pick a long term coach on 2 or 3 games coaching as interm.
