A handful of other Boise State softball players are noticeably absent from today's first game of the season as San Jose State transfer Karizma Bergesen is not in the lineup and Ashlyn Whalen started at 1B.  Jordyn Hutchins is also not in the starting lineup and Megan Lake is starting in LF.   Taylor Caudill is not the starting pitcher (Jenna Bloom got the start).   And both Leah McAnally and Isabel Gusman - one of whom I thought would be the starting catcher (or alternate starts) did not start at Catcher.  Instead Brooklyn Pettis got the start.

Also Alycia Flores did not start in RF - Mykenzie Hanna started in RF.   Flores started as the DP.

It "appears" that Utah Tech transfer Kassidy Stiles is no longer on the Boise State softball team.  The number of players is now down to 26 on the Boise State roster.

The competition to get playing time at BSU is really intense.  I don't know if this was the case for Kassidy or if she had a personal or family need that required attention.  I wish her luck.
