I'm not a BB fan but I have a question

Why is it that Boise State played New Mexico only once last season and that one game between the two MWC schools was played @ New Mexico and this year - Boise State has to, once again, travel down to New Mexico to play them again?  Two consecutive road trips to New Mexico for Boise State seems very odd scheduling by the Mountain West IMO.  Someone care to explain the WHY of this?

I could understand how that seems odd. However, it's nothing specific against Boise State as to why the schedule is formatted that way. As far as I know, the Mountain West plays an 18 game schedule with nine home games and nine road games (only eight home-and-home matchups) which leaves teams playing two schools in the conference only either once at home OR away. For example, Boise State will host Fresno State this season but not have to travel back to the SaveMart Center for a road game. The Broncos will also travel to Air Force, but not host the Falcons.

Specifically with New Mexico though, I don't think much thought is put into back-to-back games at New Mexico given that the Lobos will still come to Boise later on this season.

Hope that makes sense and clears things up!
