Dubious crystal ball prediction by 247

This guy played at Kilgore (TX) Junior College last fall because he was kicked off of two Power 5 schools prior to last season.   And now his Crystal Ball prediction on the 247 website has him 100 % going to Boise State.    I don't see someone who has been kicked off of both Texas A & M (2022) and Mississippi (2023) as a Boise State kind of guy.  IF he does, in fact, end up at Boise State I hope he proves me wrong.

This also says he visited Boise State on the 20th of January, i.e., last Saturday.

He was a 5 Star recruit back in 2021-2022 when he signed to play for Texas A & M:

Extremely dubious given that he was arrested last November in Kilgore, TX., for possession of 1/4 lb of weed - a felony in Texas.  https://www.ketk.com/news/local-news/quarter-pound-of-marijuana-seized-after-rusk-county-traffic-stop/

Yet here he is visiting Boise State last Saturday?

I don’t mind the staff giving a person another chance.  If true, I am sure Mr Marshall would be on a short leash.  I would imagine SD vetted him based on what type of person he is now and not on the mistakes he made in the past.  I am also sure they are weighing the severity of those past mistakes.  Besides the marijuana charge I don’t know what the other disciplinary reasons were.  I trust SD and staff to make the right decisions.  This could be a low risk - high reward get.  Go Broncos!

You're certainly entitled to your opinion but I think a guy who has been kicked off of two Power 5 teams in less than one year for conduct unbecoming (or to that effect) and was just arrested for felony possession of marijuana less than 3 months ago - is NOT a Boise State kind of guy.

I'd be shocked if they did bring him into the program (remember this is just a 247 Crystal Ball prediction) and I'd be even more shocked if he was brought into the program and he didn't turn out to be either a Cancer to the program or a problem to the program.  A Zebra does not change his stripes.

More on this guy:

Probably very talented and we could use more talent in the WR room.  But what a risk to bring him in.  He could be that kid that plays his game on and off the field straight, or he could ruin the chemistry of the lockerroom.  First year head coach doesn't need those problems.

He would probably be a game changing wide receiver IF he came to Boise State.  I would have to admit that but at what cost?

It seems to me that he has not learned from his mistakes.   And his problem appears to be his addiction to marijuana. And an inability to kick that addiction even if it costs him a chance to play division I football again.   And just like in Texas.............marijuana possession in Idaho is a felony (possession of more than 3 ounces).

What I'd like to know - for my own self - is HOW is it that he was ARRESTED FOR A FELONY in TEXAS less than three months ago but he's free to travel to Idaho to make an official (or unofficial) visit for the purposes of once again playing college football?   Is this yet another case where the arrest was dismissed because he's a football player?

Who are we to judge this kid? We don’t know him personally or what he has been through in his life.  Part of college football is helping develop young men into great adults. If anybody can help this kid, I think it’s the BSU program. Why not give him a chance? Worst case it doesn’t work out and he gets shipped out ASAP. Best case, he becomes a huge playmaker for Malachi and helps lead BSU back to national prominence!

And you are entitled to YOUR opinion.  Just as I am entitled to MY opinion.   I say someone who has been "bad news" for two years will almost certainly continue to be no different.   You - apparently - say Zebras can change their stripes.  Only time will tell who is right.

Well all this discussion is now moot. Per Jay Tust he committed.
