The following is how I see Boise State's 2024 softball team shaping up (so far).  Returning starters are listed in Bold print here.

As the title states CORRECTIONS ARE WELCOME and also would be very much appreciated.  So fire away but this is how I see the 2024 Boise State softball team right now.

Looks pretty good, I would suggest coming freshman Makenzie Butt will earn first base on her stats and level of travel team she is coming from. Sydney goes to 3rd. The toss ups will be the middle infield. Lots of quality players will be earning those spots.  Outfield is pretty solid and very experienced this coming year will be hard to break into those positions.

Makenzie Butt is a 2024 H.S. graduate, i.e., she won't be graduating until next spring.  She is a member of the 2024 Boise State recruiting class as a Verbal Commit and can't sign with BSU until later this year.

The six members of the 2023 Boise State softball recruiting class are:

LHP – Abby Dowell – 5' 5" - 2024 True FR – Iowa Park, TX.

2B/3B/SS – Kelly Gousha – 5' 6" - 2024 True FR – San Diego, CA.

OF – Sophia Knight – 5' 3" - 2024 True FR - Huntington Beach, CA.

C – Leah McAnally – 5' 7" - 2024 True FR - Edmond, OK. - # 30 in ExtraInning's Top 100

OF – Sophia Romero – 5' 4" - 2024 True FR – Murietta, CA.

2B – Skylar Stroh – 5' 4" - 2024 True FR – Brentwood, CA.

There are no first base players in this group.   And they all signed to play for Boise State last year.

1st base for Boise, keep an eye out for this one from San Jose.

She was a solid hitter (.340 BA last season) and first baseman for San Jose State.  I'm assuming that means Sydney Groves will be moving to 3rd and Whalen and Bergesen will split time at 1B.   And it appears she could have two years of eligibility remaining as a RS Senior for 2024 and then the extra year of eligibility (if she wants to utilize it).
