Broncos pick up Quad 1 win in the NET (For now)

Thanks to Texas A&M taking down Auburn on the road last night, the Aggies moved up to #43 in the NET rankings. Boise State's victory over the Aggies moved up to Q1 because of it. While one win being moved from Q2 to Q1 may not seem like much, when it comes to national attention it's the Q1 wins that are prominent above all else. Nevada (#34 NET) and Utah State (#36 NET) are both hovering just above #30 in the rankings, which would give the Broncos a HUGE boost if those home victories became Q1 wins. Another team to look out for is Colorado. (#64 NET) The Buffaloes play Oregon on the road tonight at 7 p.m. MT on P12 Network.

Note to remember: These quadrant wins only count at end of the regular season, so numbers will continue to move a ton as the season moves along.

Can someone explain why Texas A&M making it to 43 makes that a quad 1 win but Nevada and Utah state being in the 30s is not already quad 1?

  • Much higher NET Ranking is required for a Home Win to be T1 than a Road Win.

Home T1 Win: Opponent is 1-30

Neutral Site T1 Win: 1-50

Road T1 Win: 1-75

...or something similar to that...

If we can manage to win the games we should (CSU, AFA, SJSU, Wyoming, UNLV) and at the worst we split with New Mexico, SDSU and Utah State we should be in a good spot come Selection Sunday no matter how we do in the conference tourny. We could legitimately be playing for a better seeding which would be ideal. If we suffer another bad loss then we most likely are going to be forced to try and sweep 2 out of the 3 teams listed above in the regular season and possibly beat one of those said same teams in the conference tourny as well. It seems like the computers love us but the eye test for some reason isnt as appealing to some of the major analysts. We are off the bubble for the meantime in Lundardi's projections but even when we were rolling during that 9 game win streak he was being very stingy and kept us on the bubble for majority of that time.
