Boise State & East Carolina agree

to cancel their two-game home and home football games scheduled for 2026 (at Boise State) and 2028 (at East Carolina).

That leaves Boise State with only one non-conference game (at Oregon) for the 2026 season and two non-conference games scheduled for 2028 (Cincinnati & Georgia Southern both @ Boise State).

Any reason why this series was cancelled? It seemed like a perfect fit for both teams.

According to B. J. it was an "odd" scheduling thing since neither area is a recruiting ground for either team.

If you click on the bottom of that article on that website on "Future Boise State Football Schedules"

It shows Boise State's non-conf. opponents for 2026 as Oregon and Memphis. But if you click on Boise State's schedule for 2026 the only non-conf. opponents listed are Oregon and E. Carolina (the latter is now off the schedule).

Conversely Memphis' schedule for 2026 does not show Boise State.

Their site does state “ Note: Memphis will face Boise State in Boise Idaho with a date TBD”. It looks like they only listed games with known dates.

You've got better eyesight than I do. I didn't see that up at the top there with my 69 year old eyes.
