That is not the context in which B.J. mentioned him on the post-game video.  B.J. mentioned him as one of four returning starters on the O-line who will be returning for 2024.   There was no implying involved.  At least not that I heard.

Those four being the following:

Kage Casey - LT - Started all 14 games as a RS FR in 2023

Mason Randolph - OG/OC - Started 11 games in 2023

Ben Dooley - OG - Started 10 games in 2023

Roger Carreon - OG - Started 8 games in 2023

P.S. My definition of a returning starters is any player who started at least 50 percent of the games played in a season.  For the 2023 Boise State football team that would be someone who started at least 7 of the 14 games played in 2023.

I imagine if Dooley himself hasn't said anything on the matter then BJ got pretty good confirmation from someone within the program that he would be back. Cant imagine BJ would say it in confidence if he truly didn't know one way or another.
