Air Force recap

Survive and get the W. Which is what we exactly had to do tonight. Clune Arena is always tough for us. No matter if its a good AFA squad or a poor one. Played a great first half after a very sluggish start. Think we ended the half on a 30-9 run with a 15 point lead. The ability of our guys to be able to turn it on when needed is impressive. Max couldnt miss in the first half. Everything was going in for him.

2nd half unfortunately we looked like we were wearing down physically. Naje didn't play the entire 2nd half due to some sort of knee/leg injury. It looked like Shaver might have reaggravated his ankle injury late in the game. He's usually very adamant when he goes down that he can walk it off and be fine but this time it didn't look like he was fine. Looked in pretty serious pain. We were able to hold off Air Forces comeback bid. Kudos to the guys who were on the floor. They really clamped down on defense the final few minutes of the game.

Although we ended with a win it kind of seems like "at what cost?". Rice in the post game didnt want to speculate on how potentially serious their injuries are without coming back home and getting it look at more thoroughly first. It cannot be stated enough that if we are missing either one of Shaver or Naje for an extended amount of time that the outlook of our season is going to look very different. We are going to need guys like Pavle, Kobe and one of the 3 bigs to come up huge for us off the bench.
