Bronco Nation News is catching up with Boise State football commits ahead of the Dec. 15 early signing period. Next up in our subscriber-only series is linebacker Gavin Hambrick of Apple Valley, California.
Gavin Hambrick visited Air Force and Army and had plenty of schools interested in his services over the summer.
But when Boise State invited the three-star linebacker from Apple Valley, California, for an unofficial visit, it was a no brainer to go check out The Blue.
“It was a long shot but my parents and I said it’s Boise State, we have to go there and see what they have,” Hambrick said.
Coaches put Hambrick through some on-field drills during the visit, and saw enough to offer him a scholarship before he left town.
“I was in shock, honestly,” Hambrick said.
He didn’t need much time to make a decision. He called linebackers coach Spencer Danielson a day or two later and committed.
“No disrespect, I love the other schools, but Boise State is on a whole different level,” Hambrick said.
Hambrick sat down with Bronco Nation News to talk about his commitment to the Broncos and preparing to sign on Dec. 15. This is a subscriber-only video, so thanks for being a subscriber to Bronco Nation News:
