ANNA, Texas – Boise State running back commit Breezy Dubar told Broncos Nation News Thursday that he remains ‘100 percent’ committed to the Broncos and plans to sign next Wednesday on National Signing Day.
Dubar, who recently received an offer from Colorado, worried some Boise State fans when he tweeted that Signing Day wasn’t for two more months. Was he having second thoughts about the Broncos? Would two more months allow other, bigger schools to get involved?
Nope. He was apparently just having some fun.
“I’ll be signing on the 21st,” the four-star running back from Anna (Texas) High School said.
So why the tweet?
“Just to put some fear in the heart,” he said with a laugh.
And about that Colorado offer? Do Boise Sate fans have any reason for concern heading into next week?
“No, I’m 100 percent locked in (with Boise),” Dubar said. “I’m locked in all the way.”
Asked what it was about Boise State that has him so confident it’s the right spot for him, Dubar pointed to his relationship with running backs coach Keith Bhonapha.
“Me and coach Bhonapha, we’ve been talking for a long time – it’s been like a year,” Dubar said. “Me and his relationship has built (stronger) each and every day. Me and coach Avalos, we have a great relationship. On my first visit when I went there I just fell in love with the community, the environment and all the players up there are all pretty cool guys. I just fell in love with everything up there.”
Dubar had 1,619 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns (23 total touchdowns) as a senior this past fall for Anna High School.
