Bronco Nation News is taking a look at 20 key questions and storylines facing the Boise State football team entering the 2023 season. Next up in our series is question No. 15: What’s the offensive line look like in 2023?
The departures of two starters – left tackle John Ojukwu and center Kekaniakoa Holomalia-Gonzalez – has created some intrigue around the Boise State offensive line heading into the 2023 season opener at Washington on Sept. 3.
Mason Randolph, a freshman All-American in 2022, is expected to start somewhere along the line alongside Cade Beresford, Ben Dooley and Garrett Curren. But who starts where, and who joins them as the fifth starter, remains up in the air as summer workouts get set to begin in early June.
Several youngsters including Nathan Cardona, Kage Casey, Roger Carreon, Jason Steele and Cord Kringlen appear in the mix to push for the final available spot on the line.
One possibility could be: Beresford at left tackle, Curran at let guard, Randolph at center, Dooley at right guard and a youngster, potentially Casey, at right tackle.
Or the Broncos could choose to put Cardona, Steele or a youngster at center, and put Randolph at right guard and Dooley at right tackle.
These are just two of several possible scenarios for the Broncos, who are hoping to lean on a strong run game led by George Holani, Ashton Jeanty and Taylen Green.
