Bronco Nation News is counting down the 25 most important players to the Boise State football team in 2022. Next up in our series is No. 6, left tackle John Ojukwu:
The most experienced player on the Boise State roster is also one of the most important this fall – left tackle John Ojukwu.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Ojukwu has started 37 games for the Broncos – more than anyone else on the roster. He’s started all 19 games the past two seasons and at least seven games in each of the past four seasons. He has a streak of 29 straight starts heading into 2022.
Ojukwu is entering his sixth season with the Broncos after electing to return for his bonus year given due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His return is one of the biggest of any of the Super Seniors on the roster.
Boise State’s offensive line struggled in 2021 and needs to be much better this fall. Having Ojukwu back to anchor the group is a huge plus. That’s why he checks in at No. 6 on our list of the 25 most important players to the Boise State football team in 2022.
Here’s our video talking about Ojukwu and why he’s so important to the Broncos in 2022:
