The Boise State football team will open Mountain West play at San Diego State on Friday, Sept. 22, and close the regular season at home against Air Force as part of the 2023 Mountain West schedule which was released by the league on Thursday.
The Broncos will host San Jose State (Oct. 7), Wyoming (Oct. 28), New Mexico (Nov. 11) and Air Force (Nov. 25) during conference play, while the Broncos will travel to San Diego State, Colorado State (Oct. 14), Fresno State (Nov. 4) and Utah State (Nov. 18).
Dates could still change to either Thursday or Friday, but the teams and weekends are now set:

The Broncos kick the season off in Seattle on Sept. 3 at Washington in the start of a gauntlet to start the season, turning things around back to the Treasure Valley the next week to host newly joined Big-12 member UCF Sept. 9.
Boise State should have a chance to breathe Sept. 16 at home, hosting FCS-level North Dakota at Albertsons stadium before hitting the road for back-to-back road trips at San Diego State and Memphis Sept. 22 and 30.
Andy Avalos and co. will face three Power-5 opponents in the first five games of the 2023 season.
With conference play technically starting Friday Sept. 22 in San Diego, Boise State will kick off the rest of the seven games against Mountain West opponents on Oct. 7 vs. San Jose State and at Colorado State in Fort Collins Oct. 14.
Boise State will not have back-to-back home games throughout any point in conference play, but hold a favorable bye week slot seven games into the season on the weekend of Oct. 21.
The Broncos will head into the homestretch hosting three of their final five games, starting on Oct. 28 when Wyoming comes into Boise before Boise State heads off to Fresno State for a revenge game from the 2022 Mountain West Championship in which the Broncos fell to the Bulldogs 28-16.
Boise State will then host the Lobos of New Mexico on Nov. 11 and travel to Logan for a matchup with Utah State Nov. 18.
The Broncos will wrap up the final regular season game of 2023 at Albertsons Stadium, hosting Air Force in a game that has potential to have big implications to finish the year.
Notes for 2023:
-The Mountain West has gotten rid of divisions in 2023, making it to where the two teams with the highest conference winning percentage qualify for the Mountain West Championship on Dec. 2.
-Based on the selection process for games between FOX Sports and CBS Sports, there is potential for dates to be shifted around within the same weekend. Times and information regarding specific broadcasts for games are TBD.
