I'd also mention that I watched Wyoming's game last week vs. CSU and for most of that game I genuinely thought CSU was going to win that game - in spite of the efforts of Wyoming's 2nd string (former walk-on) QB.  But as Bill Parcells once said "Bad teams find a way to lose games".

Point being is Wyoming struggled and just barely won that game.  A game that is a true rivalry game for them (the Bronze Boot game) every year.

Wyoming won that game 14-13 @ C.S.U. whereas Boise State beat that same C.S.U. team 49-10 in Boise.

Additionally that back-up Wyoming QB was kind of impressive (to some extent) but his success came against one of the worst defenses in the country (not just in the MWC).  C.S.U. is currently 98th in the nation in Team Defense out of 131 NCAA FBS teams.  Boise State is currently 11th in the nation in Team Defense.  If that back-up (former walk-on) QB is the starting QB this week for Wyoming I think that will be his very first collegiate start as a QB and he'll be going up against the # 11 team defense in the country.

This will be right up there with the physicality of the Air Force and BYU games. Even though Wyoming's offense has been brutal this season they are still 7-3. I think as cliché as it sounds, stop the run and force them to throw the ball when they do not want to. Their QB situation coming into the game seems like its up in the air. The normal starter Peasley I think went into concussion protocol last weekend during the CSU game and I dont know if he has cleared it or not. If he is indeed able to go then we need to make sure we get guys into the backfield on our pass rush. He is one of the worst graded QBs in the country under pressure according to PFF this season. I dont know much about their backup QB. It seemed like he could be a dual threat guy. Their RB Swen is very good. If we can jump out to an early lead we could possibly take him out of the game early and him not be a factor. Obviously a lot easier said than done. Its #1 rush defense in the conference going up against the #2 rushing offense. So itll be fascinating to see which unit will prevail in that matchup on the line of scrimmage.

Defensively Wyoming is always tough. They play a super physical brand of football and you can count on Bohl having this unit ready to bring their A game. With that being said they are kind of dealing with the same problems we have on the injury front on this side of the ball. Couple of their better players are listed as day-to-day but they are typically pretty solid for depth on this side of the ball.

 

Final score im going to go with 24-14. I think this game will play out very similar to the Air Force game. We jump out early and it'll be enough to hold onto the lead as the game goes on.

Similar to AFA, Wyoming's offense is not a great offense to play catch up.  As mentioned,  if BSU can get up two scores or so, then Wyoming will just be a time killer.  The key is to start fast & score early.   Score touchdowns, not settling for field goals.

My guess...  BSU 31  WYO 17.
