Came out of the gates on fire shooting. Defense gave up a few easier buckets inside on defense but overall playing pretty well. Agbo 18 points as well at the half

Very solid game overall. Utah Valley did some nice things on offense that gave our defense fits but our guys were executing at such a high level on the offensive end today that it didnt matter what UVU did. All 5 starters were able to get into double digit scoring and Shaver is continuing to rebound at a crazy rate for being a PG. I agree with BJ, he is going to get a triple-double at some point this season.

My main concern with this team so far is the lack of scoring outside of our starters. Granted when we are able to have double digit scoring from your starting 5 that becomes a bit of a mute point but at some point we are going to need 1-2 guys off the bench to step up and be able to contribute in the scoring column. We are getting good minutes from guys like Sada, Whiting and Milner but none have really taken that step forward offensively yet. Sada obviously has the high ceiling but he is still developing. Really would be nice to get Milner to be aggressive on that end. We are going to need it once conference play starts and teams force us to have to use a bigger lineup.

A solid game overall.  The center position is the only question I have.  Bigger teams like SDST will give us fits and be hard to contain.  I don’t see the answer for an athletic center on this team.  The combo of Naje Smith and Lucas Milner will have to do.  Overall I really like our team.  BTW the crowd was announced at 8,544.  Pretty nice since the students are gone and the opponent was less than a “named” school.  Go Broncos!

Not sure the Broncos can compete at the top of the Mountain West if they continue to get next to nothing from Milner/Sylla at the 5 spot, but Naje Smith has certainly been a pleasant surprise. He's made a ton of improvement and can battle with bigger guys.

Defensively/rebounding, the Broncos need Milner to produce though. More fouls than points/rebounds is not ideal from him.

Also, Chibuzo Agbo appears to be pretty good. Two out of three games now with 20-plus points. When he gets off to a good start...look out.

Should be an easy win against CSUN on Tuesday but then some tough games the following two Saturdays against A&M and Saint Louis.

Thanks for the insight BJ.  I see NgaNga as being an answer.  He doesn’t need to play the 5, but if he can go on the same rocket trajectory that Degenhart was on last year, that will be a nightmare for opponents.  He is tall enough and athletic enough to add more scoring and rebounding.  I believe how far we go may rest on his play.  If he could get to 10 pts/6 rebounds per game going into league play, the Broncos will be a tough matchup.  Go Broncos!
