So the boys finished the tournament in Myrtle Beach 2-1 as they beat a decent Colorado team 68-55. Marcus Shaver led the way with 20. Their mark in this game was defense. Colorado had put up 103 on #24 Texas A&M. Mr Simpson who had 30 the other night was held to 14.
I see a number of players stepping up from game to game (Agbo, Degenhart, Rice, Shaver or Smith) but the defense is their difference maker. Their next few non conference games should be easier than the trio of teams they faced in Myrtle Beach. They also have 2 key noncon match ups in Texas A&M and Saint Louis. These games will help solidify who they are heading into an extremely competitive Mountain West schedule. So far, I like what I see developing with this group. Go Broncos!
