Don't know how many watched both Boise State softball games Friday

But I watched all of the first game (terrific game played by both teams) .  Before the 2nd game began the Mountain West streaming channel didn't even have it listed (but both day 3 games were listed).   I tried again about 1/2 way thru the 4th inning it was being televised but by then 1/2 the game had already been played.  But I did get to watch the rest of the 4th inning and the 5th, 6th and 7th innings.

The second game was obviously a huge disappointment.  Especially considering that if not for a miraculous catch by San Jose State's left fielder Boise State wins that game 4-2 instead of losing 2-1.  When I saw Alycia Flores hit that shot I was celebrating because I KNEW it was a home run.  Yet somehow the left fielder made the catch OVER the wall.   The female commentator giddly described it as the "best catch I have seen all season".   That entire game turned on that one play IMO.  If that ball had been one foot higher at the end it's 4-2 Boise State.

P.S. The "good" news is the Boise State softball team will never have to go up against Jennessa Ullegue again.  She's listed on the SJS softball roster as a "Redshirt Senior"  but that's incorrect.  She is in fact a 5th year Senior who has never utilized a redshirt year.  So her extra year of eligibility was utilized this season.

I had the same experience as you in trying to find the second game. One minute it wasn't listed at all, and the next minute it suddenly appeared.

Ullegue was pitching her 4th game in two days, but she still had mastery over the Broncos hitters. Hard to explain. BSU seemed a little flat in the tournament. BSU seemed tight against San Jose State, and SJSU looked like they were having a lot more fun than the Broncos.

Has there been an explanation for why Kelsey Hall didn't play?

If there has been an explanation for why Kelsey Hall didn't play for the 2nd half of that last game I certainly haven't seen it.  I did see her cheering on Brooklyn Pettis (who replaced her as a batter) both times that Pettis came to the plate.   But Kelsey did not do well at the plate during the tournament.   She was 1 for 6 with 2 strikeouts and no walks when Pettis replaced her.  And Hall's batting average dropped about 25 or 30 percentage points during the tournament.

I agree with your statement that BSU seemed a little flat in the tournament but they have seemed a bit flat the last three weeks IMO.  In the three game series vs. Fresno State they scored a TOTAL of only 8 runs in those three games.  And in the first two games the previous week vs. San Diego State they scored only four runs in those two games.   And in the three games at the tournament they scored only nine runs total in those three games.  This is a team that was averaging nearly 8 runs per game earlier this season.

I won't pretend to know what the cause for this was but as an outside observer it APPEARS that this team had a tendency to let the pressure get to them late in the season.   I don't know that to be a fact but that's what appeared to be the problem.  And it all began when they had to play San Diego State - at home in Boise.
