Casey Kline transferring to

Former Boise State LB and TE Casey Kline apparently is transferring to Central Oklahoma - a Division II football team that plays in the Mid America Conference.

Central Oklahoma's school mascot is the "Bronchos", i.e., spelled the same way Western Michigan used to incorrectly spell their mascot name before changing it to Broncos a few years back.  They changed it when it was pointed out to them that there is no such thing as a "Broncho" other than Broncho-pneumonia.

I think he just picked up an offer from them is all. Dont see anywhere that he committed to them

You are likely right about that.  But at this point (mid November of 2022) it doesn't appear that he has a lot of options.  Wasn't he rated as a four star LB recruit out of H.S.?

He was a 4* BUT his rating is a little bit of an odd one when he was a HS prospect. I think it was Huffman who came out and said it was truly tough to evaluate Kline cause he didnt play in a overly tough conference in HS. How can you put an accurate rating on a kid if he isnt playing the best competition? He dominated games but it was legit like he was a full grown man playing against toddlers. This is in no way a chirp towards Kline or even trying to bash him. Majority of kids dont get to pick and choose what HS they get to play for. He obviously had some big offers as well so we werent the only ones who saw that there could be something there even if he wasnt playing the best competition.

Not hating on the kid, but just by how he was rated as a recruit vs how he turned out to be as a player, he is one of biggest recruiting busts in Boise State football history

It definitely stinks he couldn't find his footing here. Like I said in my previous post: He was probably very hard to rate considering the talent he was going against not being that good but with him dominating every facet (he was a triple option QB as well btw) of his games i can see how recruiting experts could not want to do the kid a disservice by rating him low in their evaluation and hurting the kids chances at getting offers. I think Kline's case is one of the more unique ones cause he was possibly rated strictly off potential.

If you want to dig a little deeper. That 2019 recruiting class we had that many national pundits were saying was the "best Group of 5 recruiting class ever" actually is going to be one of the bigger busts in our recruiting history. Roughly 6 of the 18 scholarship offered HS players played a significant role on the team. 2 of those contributors are transferring this year that did play a significant role were Bach and Bagnah. I know not every class is going to live up to expectations and such, but for a class that was that highly thought of and not many of those guys panning out or even playing a tiny role is a big OOF.

More teams as we get closer to early signing day will take a look at him. I think it was Dylan Hall who entered the portal from us was kind of the same situation offer wise. He had a ton of lower level schools but then when signing day got closer the bigger schools started to give him offers and he ended up at Arizona State.

You may be right but as of right now there's only about 5 weeks from now before the early signing period for NCAA football.   That early football signing period only lasts 3 days (Dec. 21, Dec. 22 until midnight Dec. 23).  If he's going to sign with a school for 2023 he is going to have to be on their spring 2023 roster.  He certainly would not want to wait till next fall to join another team.

Looks like Casey has two more newer offers.  From Central Missouri and Lamar University.  Central MO. is a Div II school and Lamar is an F.C.S. school.

Mr. Kline has made his decision and he will be transferring to Lamar University:
