Golden has committed to New Mexico State

Kline, I believe, is committed to Lamar Univ.  However I thought he "medically retired" from Boise State.  Maybe I have him confused with someone else.

Thanks for the Jacob Golden info. Had not seen he was committed already. Kline is interesting. I remember him committing to Lamar as well but when i went to go confirm it on his twitter page, he deleted the commitment tweet.

Yeah, I saw that as well, and I do remember him saying he had committed to Lamar (which was the best of the three offers that he had made public IMO).   Maybe another school has shown interest and he has not disclosed that yet.

One thing to keep in mind is the fact that the open transfer portal period lasts 45 days and ends on January  19th.   The players in the portal therefore have a good deal of time to make their choices.  Those that have choices that is.

One thing to keep in mind is the fact that the open transfer portal period lasts 45 days and ends in mid January I think. Can't recall the exact date tho.   The players in the portal therefore have a good deal of time to make their choices.  Those that have choices that is.

For sure. Sadly this is the negative part about the portal. So many kids who think they will automatically get picked up by other schools and come to find out about half of the kids who have entered the portal, never find a team and dont play again.

New Mexico State, by the way, will be joining Conference USA on July 1, 2023.   As I'm sure most know New Mexico has been an Independent since the Sun Belt dropped them (and Idaho) a few years ago.  But unlike Idaho New Mexico State did not drop down to the FCS level.   So that's going to end up being a good choice for Jacob.

Off topic and Mountain West fans may not like it but I'd like to see New Mexico State join the conference. Very strong Basketball squad and natural rivals with New Mexico. No not a strong football team that would move the needle but their basketball success would. They would come in and compete right away.

P.S. Note to BSUaddict.  My apologies for taking so long to approve this thread.   I was out for about one and one half hours before I saw you had posted it for approval.

No worries. I knew you'd get to it at some point when able. This is just something I thought would be helpful/fun for the few people who come here for info on the forums who may not know where to look for portal news. Plus I have some free time coming up lately that I dont mind constantly updating the list when info is given

As I mentioned above they are going to Conference USA as of July 1, 2023.

Secondly New Mexico won't allow New Mexico State to join the MWC.  They are adamantly opposed to that and have been for a long time.  Much like Boise State would be opposed to Idaho joining the MWC.
