All of the injured players in the Nevada game

There were so many going down with injuries in that game it's difficult to remember all of them.

I remember Tyreque Jones, the starting NB went down early.  Then his back-up Zion Washington also went down not too much later in the game.  I never did figure out who replaced Washington.

Gabe Hunter went down several times but he was still in the game late.

Who else was injured in that game?

Feels like we getting awfully thin on defense.   And Tarlas and Washington aren't coming back.

maybe that freshman Misa was highly hyped recruit can get some playing time

Hogans? That guy has been healthy  1 game I think all year.  Hopefully he can get back in. He was starting after Tarlas got hurt.

You didn't watch Andy Avalos' press conference this afternoon I take it.  See the other thread here that I posted about 10 minutes ago.

As to Hogans I saw him on the sidelines last Saturday night and I know he was not listed on the Player Participation list but I remember the announcers mentioning him and I THOUGHT they mentioned him as having played in the Nevada game.

Did you notice that the initial DE on one side vs . Nevada was Hassanein and Scott Matlock also played as a DE on three downs.  They will have somebody as a 2nd DE even if they have to use three DT's to do it.

I'm more concerned about the fact that both of the known NB's were injured in the NV game.

I dont think Hogans had his helmet all game with him. He was for sure suited up though. Dont think they had any intention on using him unless absolutely needed. Gabe Hunter has impressed in his limited snaps and although Simpson is more of a true LB, I wouldn't be shocked to see him get snaps at edge in certain packages either even given his size. The few times he did come blitzing off the edge against Nevada he had a really good bend and almost looked like a natural EDGE player. I think he is going to be a special LB for us. Dude has seized the opportunity and making the most of it with Noa banged up.

Boise State can always go with 3 DT's and one DE - just like they did in the Nevada game.

Here are their options with that in mind for a 2nd DE based on who has played in the most games so far:

Braxton Fely - DL - 6' 2" 280 lbs - True FR - Played in 10 games so far

Michael Callahan - DT - 6' 3" 280 lbs - RS JR - Played in 9 games so far

Ahmed Hassanein - DT - 6' 3" 280 lbs - SO - Played in 9 games so far

Scott Matlock - DT - 6' 4" 300 lbs - RS SR - Played in 9 games so far

Divine Obichere - DT - 6' 3" 290 lbs - 5th year SR - Played in 9 games so far

Deven Wright - DE - 6' 5" 223 lbs - JR - Played in 9 games so far

Gabe Hunter - DE  - 6' 3" 235 lbs - RS SO - Played in 6 games so far

Cortez Hogans - DL - 6' 3" 265 lbs - RS SR - Played in 2 games so far

Jayden Virgin - DE - 6' 3" 240 lbs - True FR - Played in 1 game so far

J. J. Talo - DT - 6' 2" 280 lbs - True FR - Played in 0 games so far

James Wilborn JR. - DE - 6' 2" 230 lbs - RS FR - Played in 0 games so far

Mason Jacobsen - DE/LS - 6' 4" 245 lbs - True FR - Played in 0 games so far

Or as you pointed out they could also utilize some of the LB's as DE's as well.

They must think highly of Fely to not redshirt him.  Just off the top of my head I can't think of any other  true freshman besides Jeanty that were not redshirted.

Think I have seen Fely in on some of the "Clydesdale" packages when we had injured starting D linemen

I tried to re-watch the Nevada game last night in order to try to see who was injured in that game (for Boise State) but I only watched the first half before heading to bed last night and this morning my subscription to YouTubeTV (and it's DVR) is not loading properly so I am unable to watch the 2nd half this morning.

At any rate the only Boise State players I observed who were injured in that Nevada game were both Nickel Backs (Tyreque Jones & Zion Washington) and DE Gabe Hunter.   Based on what I saw of Tyreque's injury I would GUESS that he will be back in the lineup for the Wyoming game but I could very easily be all wrong about that.   Zion's injury looked worse but he - like Tyreque - ended up walking off the field on his own.

Gabe Hunter left the field with what appeared to be a relatively minor injury and then went right back in a couple of plays later.

The announcers mentioned that George Tarlas (DE), Demitri Washington (DE), Ezekiel Noa (MLB) and Jackson Cravens (DT) all were "Out" for the Nevada game.  Hopefully two of those three guys who are not known to be out for the season can return for the Wyoming game.  I didn't hear them say anything about any of the Boise State players on offense who were "Out" for that game.  But according to the Player Participation list WR Cole Wright and OG Garrett Curren both did not play in the Nevada game.

If anyone knows of any other players who were injured in the Nevada game (for Boise State) please let me know.
