The Boise State football team has announced the additions of 22 signees in the 2022 recruiting class.
The list includes players from 10 different states and two countries. It also includes three four-star prospects in running back Ashton Jeanty, linebacker Dishawn Misa and edge rusher Jayden Virgin.
Going into the day the Broncos had a top-50 class nationally, according to 247Sports. It’s shaping up to be one of the best signing classes in Boise State history.
“We’re excited to celebrate the young men we have joining our program,” coach Andy Avalos said. “There was a huge emphasis in this class on rebuilding depth in our fronts and gaining depth we feel like we can develop. We’re excited about what we were able to accomplish there.”
Avalos noted the Broncos only offered 73 players in this class and that they expect to hit on about a 30 percent success rate.
“Really proud of our staff, our recruiting staff and our coaching staff,” Avalos said.
Boise State’s core GPA of the 22 signees is 3.20, which Avalos noted was just as important as the on-field skills.
“It’s not just about competing on the field,” Avalos said. “It’s being elite in the classroom.”
The Broncos will have an eye-popping 10 midyear enrollees arrive in January. That list includes Jeanty, James Ferguson, Cade Beresford, Deven Wright, George Tarlas, Kage Casey, Braxton Fely, Cortez Hogans, JJ Talo and Austin Terry.
“We’re very excited to get these guys here in January,” Avalos said. “This is a huge part of how we will develop and be able to train and move forward when we start preparing for next season. We’re looking forward to seeing these young men on campus real soon.”
Boise State signed 18 high school players, an FBS transfer, an FCS transfer and two JUCO transfers.
