No home games until week four, a three-game home stand, another stretch of almost a month without a home game and a non-conference game in the final week of the regular season highlight Boise State’s 2024 football schedule released Thursday.
Opponents and locations had previously been announced, but Thursday’s release from the Mountain West included the dates. Some games will still move to Thursday or Fridays, but the order and weekends are now set.
Boise State opens the season with consecutive road games at Georgia Southern (Aug. 31) and at Oregon (Sept. 7) before the first of two bye weeks on Sept. 14.
The Broncos’ home opener is not until Sept. 21 when they host Portland State. It’s the start of three straight home games for Boise State, which hosts Washington State (Sept. 28) and Utah State (Oct. 5).
Washington State was added as part of the Mountain West agreement with them and Oregon State after the disbanding of the Pac-12. Each Mountain West school will play either Oregon State or Washington State as a non-conference game, and three schools – including Boise State – will play both due to previously scheduled non-con games.
Boise State will finish the regular season at home against Oregon State on Nov. 30 in a non-con game ahead of a potential Mountain West title game on Dec. 7.
After the three-game home stand the Broncos play at Hawaii (Oct. 12) before a second bye week on Oct. 17. Following the bye is another road trip to UNLV (Oct. 26) before consecutive home games against San Diego State (Nov. 2) and Nevada (Nov. 9).
It’s back on the road for games at San Jose State (Nov. 16) and at Wyoming (Nov. 23) before the non-con finale against Oregon State.
CBS Sports and FOX will make TV selections in the coming weeks, which likely will shift some games to either Thursday or Friday. Those changes and the full TV schedule typically are released in late May or early June.
Boise State enters year one of the Spencer Danielson era and returns one of the top running backs in the country in Ashton Jeanty.
