Very proud with how our guys responded after Thursday nights showing. They came in with a lot of energy and didn't let Thursday's poor showing on offense carry over into the game vs Loyola. This teams calling card is still going to be defense. There was nearly an 8 minute stretch where they didnt give up any points. Not even from the foul line. They made life hell for Loyola and suffocated them. They couldnt get very many clean looks and then when they would get a decent look, they were already too far out of the game and were losing confidence much like what we did vs Charlotte. We communicated well off screens and switched off guys when needed.

Offensively we can still get better and will need to once conference play starts. Tonight though was all about our execution in multiple ways. We were running the floor well in transition and we were zipping the ball around and getting guys open with relative ease. Naje and Milner even though neither scored from the field, played super hard tonight. Naje didnt look outmatched down low against the other bigs and held his own very nicely. I was really impressed that Milner didnt seem to hold his head down after being the guy who got pulled from the starting lineup. The only thing i would like to see more of from him (Milner) is when hes down in the paint, to dunk more and go up stronger to the basket. You are 6'11, utilize it. Dont settle for hook shots going across the paint or layups. Nothing will hurt a defending big mans confidence more than when he allows a dunk over him. Eventually they will start to foul more cause of them being frustrated and that leads to us getting to the FT line and putting players in foul trouble. Agbo finally having his break out game was awesome to watch. He kept playing hard and it started to finally pay off for him. You could just see his confidence rise after each shot. Max Rice's game continues to evolve. He is no longer just a spot up shooter. He is taking guys off the dribble more and creating good mid/short range shots for himself. I dont need to say much about Deggie and Shavers game tonight. Those 2 led the team by example and it carried over to the rest of the guys. Deggie's first half was total dominance on both ends of the court. He was a man on a mission tonight.

We need consistency in winning, not consistency in Bad game, good game, bad game, good game. Hopefully we can come our firing against Colorado and win the game.  They are a good team so a win against CU will really boost the team's confidence.
