Bracketology for 3/10/2024
Quote from Railroader on March 10, 2024, 12:45 pmLife isn't fair. We beat the SUDS twice this year and Lunardi has us as a 9 seed in Indy while the SUDS are a 5 seed in Spokane.
MIDWEST (DETROIT)
INDIANAPOLIS
Hopefully we do well in the MWC tournament and get a higher seed.
Go Broncos!

Lunardi is typically on the lower end of rankings when it comes to the big bracketologists out there. With that said though it seems like bracketmatrix has us averaged out around a 7-8 seed which is probably fair. Our resume is very comparable to past 5-6 seeds(I do believe we should be a 6 seed). Whether its right or wrong the Aztecs are being rewarded for their run last year. Their resume in comparison to ours really isnt close if we just looked at Q1 W-L. Combining the Q1 and Q2 records is where we are pretty much the same. I don't agree with them being in some cases 3 seed lines higher than us but that's the way she goes.
Usually the brackets are set by Thursday/Friday nights before Selection Sunday so I wouldn't expect any crazy movement seeding wise regardless if we win the conference tourny or are 1 and done. Have to remember that we were a projected 8/9 seed when we were going into the conference tourny in 2022 and even after we ended up winning the tournament we were still seeded right at that mark.
My personal seedings if the season ended last weekend would be: Utah State 5, San Diego State 6, Nevada 6, Boise State 7, Colorado State 8/9, New Mexico first 4 out. New Mexico has everything to gain and lose this tourny. The rest of us probably wont move much at all regardless of outcomes.

Quote from BSUaddict on March 12, 2024, 9:25 amLunardi updated his bracket this morning. Has Nevada as a 5, San Diego State as a 5, Utah State as 7, Boise State as 8, Colorado State as 9, New Mexico as the 2nd team in the first 4 out.
I think Nevada's resume is very underrated(minus the Wyoming loss). Don't see them as a 5 seed. I see them more as a 6. However, Nevada and San Diego State BOTH being 2 full seeds above Utah State??? That is insane and doesn't make sense to me. SDSU is 3-9 in Q1 games. Credit to them though with no bad losses but Utah State doesn't have a bad loss either. Would love to hear his explanation on these seedings.
Lobos probably need to at least reach the Championship game to feel better about their chances. There's not a ton of bid thieves left but I wouldn't put it past them having to win the conference tourny altogether.

Quote from BroncoChief on March 13, 2024, 10:30 amI think if the Broncos lose the 1st game or win one game a #8, win 2 games a #7. Win a championship they would be no worse than a #6 seed. Go Broncos!
