BOISE – Six players scored in double figures and Boise State scored 68 points in the paint in a dominant 100-65 win over Corban on Tuesday night.
O’Mar Stanley had 15 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for the Broncos, who got a game-high 16 points from NAIA transfer Javan Buchanan and 14 points from Arizona transfer Dylan Anderson.
Emmanuel Ugbo had 13 points and eight rebounds for Boise State, while Tyson Degenhart and Andrew Meadow each added 11 points.
Boise State (2-1) shot 61.9 percent from the field and out-rebounded Corban 45-24.
Maybe the most important stat? The Broncos were able to get 10 different players at least 15 minutes of action.
“We did some good things,” coach Leon Rice said. “Those minutes are valuable and that was the perfect scenario for us to get a lot of guys minutes. I feel good about getting everybody close to 20 and that’s really going to help them, and we saw some good things out there.”
The Broncos led just 28-22 with seven minutes left in the first half before ending the half on a 22-7 run to lead 50-29 at the break.
It was more of the same in the second half as the Broncos built the lead to as much as 38 points and cruised in front of 10,508 fans.
Boise State, which rebounded from an 84-73 loss at San Francisco last Saturday, got 42 points from its bench and turned 14 Corban turnovers into 18 points.
The Broncos now turn their attention to one of the biggest games of the season. Clemson, who advanced to the Elite Eight last season, comes to ExtraMile Arena on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
