The Boise State football team is No. 12 in the latest AP Poll released Sunday morning.
It’s the highest the Broncos have been since they were No. 8 in the final poll in 2011 – Kellen Moore’s senior year.
Boise State is coming off a 56-24 win over San Diego State on Friday night.
The Broncos were helped by three teams losing just in front of them in last week’s rankings in No. 10 Texas A&M and a pair of teams tied at No. 11 – Iowa State and Clemson.
Boise State ranks No. 3 in scoring offense at 45.8 points per game, No. 4 in rushing offense at 267.9 yards per game, No. 4 in total offense at 509.1 yards per game and No. 4 in fourth down conversions at 84.6 percent. The Broncos are No. 2 in fewest turnovers committed with just four in eight games.
The Broncos also lead the nation in sacks per game on defense at 4.75 per game.
The first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Boise State (7-1, 4-0 MW) is back in action Saturday at 6 p.m. on FOX when it hosts Nevada.
The FOX Big Noon Kickoff pregame show, which considered coming to Boise next week, instead will head to Colorado at Texas Tech.
